R&D
Distributed Blockbuilding
MISSION
In collaboration with Flashbots, we've been conducting research on distributed blockbuilder designs. Leveraging our expertise in privacy enhancing technologies (PETs), we aimed to contribute to the industry-wide research effort in understanding and building better mechanisms for maximal extractable value (MEV).
CHALLENGE
In order to understand distributed blockbuilding, we need to understand how block builders work. Towards this end, HashCloak has developed research and skills in the areas of algorithmic game theory and cooperative game theory in combination with its existing expertise in advanced cryptography.
GOAL
The goal of this research project is to understand how to construct distributed blockbuilders in practice. From understanding how to incentive block builders to not defect from a coalition to enforcing cheat proof mechanisms using cryptography, distributed blockbuilding construction requires analyzing the various tradeoffs carefully in order to ensure the welfare of a given blockchain ecosystem.
